Fair Weekend

Last Saturday we made the trip up to Logandale for the county fair.  Sadly the weather had other plans on our little adventure.  It was super stormy!  We got there and it was raining...thats nothing we can't handle so we started getting out of the car to load Kenton in his stroller.  All of a sudden out of nowhere it started hailing/snowing.  It wasnt quite as hard as hail, it was like a slush.  Would we call that sleet?  Anyway we decided to get back in the car while we left Jason to put the stroller back! Thanks Babe!  We then decided to drive another 20 minutes or so to go visit Jasons brother Josh and his wifes Sarahs family in Mesquite.  It was fun and we enjoyed spending time with the fam.  We had fun playing with the kids and having dance competitions on the kinect.  I believe I saw Grandpa Brummett getting his groove on, although it didn't last long because everybody came in to watch and he stopped.  I brought Kenton down to play with the kids in their bedroom.  Kenton decided that he liked playing in his cousin Ethans room better because of all the cool boy toys!

Later on we went to dinner with everyone at Samurai 21.  We did the Hibachi grill experience and it was fun!Kenton was mesmerized by the fire when it got all big.  He loves observing new and exciting things.

All of our cute family!  It was fun to see them!

Our chef was pretty amazing!  He was flipping his tools everywhere.  He even flipped shrimp into each of our mouths.  I cheated and made a funnel with my hands to catch it, but I spit it back out since I'm not a fan of plain shrimp.

I believe it was Amandas first time seeing her food cooked right in front of her.  We were both bummed about missing the fair food but we loved our chicken and steak!  Thanks Manda for being a good sport!

Kenton LOVES his daddy!  He was playing with him and wouldn't look at the camera to take a picture, but I liked this pose with him staring at his daddy!  We had a great weekend and it was fun hanging with the "other" Brummetts.  Can't wait for the fair next year either!  Kenton will probably enjoy it more then anyways!

Family Night

For Family Home Evening this week we just went on a walk and took it easy.  The weather was so nice that we decided not to miss the opportunity to be outside.  We took Kenton and Aida to the park and had a little picture time there.  It was Kentons first time down a slide and he loved it!

He was all smiles!  He is getting so big, its hard to believe.  Just the other day he was so proud of himself for getting from point A to point B.  He is moving around now so it is time to baby proof everything.  Everyday he gets stronger too.  He is trying to pull himself up to a standing position when he is by tables and such.  Jason and I think that the kid will walk before he crawls because he gets so mad when he is stuck on his belly.  We will see.

We each took turns taking him down the slides!  It is so much fun watching Kenton when we go outside.  He enjoys observing his surroundings.  He has enjoyed the outdoors since he was little and I am glad that he still does!  Good thing summer is coming!  We are going to have fun play days!

Grandpas Birthday weekend!

Grandpas birthday was on the 11th and it was his big 50th birthday!  Skyler, Bri, and Breyden all came down to join in on this momentous occasion!  They stayed with us and we had too much fun with our cute little kids!  Kenton and Breyden just love each other so much.  At least we hope they do!
They had so much fun playing together and sharing toys!

So we had some big plans to surprise dad when he got home at work at 6 in the morning.  We were going to wake up super early and make the trek over and be there waiting to surprise him.  It would be perfect, he wouldn't even suspect it!  We all went to bed Fri night probably a little later than we should have being our alarms were set for 4am.  Around 3:30 we got a text from my mom saying dad got home early:(  As much as I didn't want to get up that early I was bummed!  I was way excited to surprise him!  So we went back to sleep and woke up and went over.  He finally got up around 12 or so and it was a party from there!  We had tons of black balloons and caution tape and 50 streamers.  We even got him an over the hill cake!
Grandpa was so excited that his two favorite grandsons were there.  Quite honestly I think he was more excited to snuggle with those two than anything else!  Grandpa of course had to leave for work after awhile but that didn't stop us from having some fun.
I love seeing the boys together...Since they are 9 days apart it is so fun to compare their stats like how tall they are and how much they weigh and what not.
They are pretty close in height...Breyden has got Kenton by a good inch or so.  He takes after his tall daddy!
Breyden also tries to be way taller by standing on his tip toes!

Kenton is helping Breyden with his headstand and apparently getting hungry at the same time.
I liked this picture cause you could see their daddies in the background.

On Sunday the boys got to eat breakfast together.  Kenton let Breyden use his chair and loved sitting taller than him!  They both got pretty messy and needed to have baths!

Breyden was highly upset when his mommy told him it was all gone that he decided to see for himself.

Then decided that he would finish it off by licking it out:)  My kind of guy!  It was bath time after that and they were super stoked to get in the tub!

Had to take some pictures while they waited for their bath to fill up.  We are lucky they aren't sick of pictures at this point.  They always have lights flashing in their eyes!  And finally BATH TIME

They had so much fun splashing around and getting their mommies wet while Jason and Skyler captured the moment!  As much as we wanted to go over early to my parents with Bri and Sky we had to go to our ward and teach our cute little primary kids!  After church we came home to change and grab Aida.
Kenton is ready for the drive to Grandma and Grandpas house and hanging on for dear life!
Sunday dinner was nice.  We hated saying good bye to Dad but we had fun playing scattegories together and eating some more of his Birthday cake and ice cream.  Jason and I were leaving to go to his parents so we said our goodbyes.  It always stinks saying goodbye knowing that it will be awhile before we see the Southwicks again!  I tell them time and time again to just move down to save us all this heartache:)
Sisterly love and with our cute little boys.  Had to get our traditional photo together!  Its crazy to think that we both have kids!
It was a great weekend in all and we had so much fun together!  Now we just look forward to the next birthday or holiday that will bring us together again!

Kentons 6 month photo shoot

It is amazing how fast time flies.  I can't believe my son is already 6 months old!  I have had so much   fun watching this little one grow!  I remember my mom always telling me and I am sure everyone remembers their mothers saying, "When you have kids you will see" or "when you have kids then come talk to me."  I always just laughed and brushed it off, like sure mom whatever you say.  As much as I hate to say it mom was right!  I have so much love for my little boy and it wont change with anything that he does.  I will never question my parents love for me again. Kenton is such a sweet spirited little boy.  He can make us laugh with something as little as a certain look.  When he smiles it reaches his eyes and he has that little twinkle.  Jason and I have been so blessed to have him!  I know that the next 6 months are going to pass equally as fast and we are going to have a walking 1 year old!  Cant wait to share many more memories with this little guy!

The hard thing about having a blog is you have to have a new update every three to four days if you don't want someone to tell you to "update your blog".  Ha I love it.  I do the best that I can.  I can only take so many pictures of my cute little son before someone thinks I am obsessed!  We went to Grandmas to do her hair last week and I took some cute pics of Kenton.  He is sitting on his own now and I think he likes being able to see whats going on instead of laying on his back.  He falls over every once in awhile which sometimes he doesn't mind and sometimes its the worst thing that's ever happened.  He is a tough cookie though.  Later that night he was on a blanket and kept pulling it over his face.  Had to snap some photos of that too because it was so cute.  Daisy (my parents dog) came to see he what he was doing and then decided to lay down with him.  Kenton just loves when these animals pay attention to him!

Provo Trip

We made a trip to Provo for the UNLV vs. Byu game.  Jason, Kenton, Amanda and myself traveled up Friday night and stayed with Bri and Sky so we could get some rest.  We woke up early Saturday morning for the rest of the trek.  Unfortunately our Rebels lost but that didn't stop us from having fun!  We got together with two of my besties and their husbands.  We ate at TEXAS ROADHOUSE!!  The food was so yummy and we got our GRUB on.  Amanda and I ordered two different steaks and split them!  Tasty tasty!  Jason was giving Kenton some lime and the kid actually liked it.  He is going to like just about anything I think.  Later that night we went swimming at our hotels indoor heated pool.  So much for heated I was in about 5 minutes before I got cold and Julie and I got in the hot tub!  Amanda got together with her friend Kaylee that is going to Byu for school and they decided to join us in the hot tub too!  This was Kenton's first swimming experience and the kid is a natural!  He was kicking and splashing.  He looked like a little frog in the water with his legs going.  I am looking forward to the summer time so I can take him to the pool often!  The kid is just an all around fun kid who is so easy going!  We even gave him a bath in the sink because everyone was changing in the bathroom and he was tired and needed to go to bed.  He fit so perfectly:)  We stayed up all night just chatting it up!  We finally decided we should go to bed so we could be well rested to drive home tomorrow.  We said bye to all our friends and hit the sacks!
In the morning I grabbed us some breakfast then I went to see Ann.  She didn't bring Cora the night before so I had to go see her!  She was so cute and loved Kenton but she didn't enjoy her parents attention being taken away.  What a good and fun and fast trip.  Amanda, Kenton and I left Jason to it and we all fell asleep.  We made good time and was able to make it all the way to Cedar before Kenton woke up and wanted food.  He is such a good eater.  He loves him some food!  When we finally made it home we found a Byu shrine on our doorstep.  Our bishops family left it, they like Byu.  Jason is all pumped for revenge!  Thanks to grandma and grandpa for watching their grand puppy...even if she was a hellion!  Loves!   Well that's a wrap folks!
