Brummett Family Reunion 2011

This year for our Brummett Reunion we went camping at Carlsbad beach.  We had so much fun with everyone even though Jason is not a BIG camper.  While my big man did amazing for not liking to camp my little man was not himself and was very needy.  Of course he chooses the week we are not at home to have a temperature and to start teething...I guess he really had no say in it but just our luck that it would happen that way.

I loved being beach side and watching the waves.  I wish we could have the luxury of living on the beach.  There is nothing like it.  To be able to sleep and hear the water was heavenly and to wake up to the sound of the waves was even better!  I even enjoyed running on the beach.  It was very rocky so I was extra careful not to roll any ankles.  Visiting around the campfire couldn't have been more fun. We did some Keg stands....with root beer of course!  Grandma was all for trying it out and after much convincing and knowing his wife was brave enough we got Grandpa to do it.  We have our best laughs when it is late and everybody is tired!

I think my favorite part of the trip was being with everyone at Sea World and watching my little guys eyes light up when he got to see all the animals.  Jason and I love Sea World and sea life...both of our favorite animal is Dolphins.  So we loved watching Kenton even more enjoy what we both love.  It was the first day that he was a little happier.  I don't know what it was but I like to think he liked seeing all the animals.  Kenton slept a lot throughout the days while we were camping which is to be expected and here are the many shots of him catching some zzzzz's.

Julieanne put so much thought and preparation into this family reunion and it was wonderful!  We had amazing food, company, and conversations!  Thanks Julieanne for such an amazing time!  Jason and I are in charge of the family reunion next year so it should be interesting.  Not making any promises on if anyone will think its fun or not but we will try!  Jason says NO CAMPING!

Me and my precious little guy.

My sister in law Julieanne got engaged and will be marrying Josh.  We will now have 2 Josh's and 2 Jason's in the Brummett Clan.

What Has Kenton been up to?

A couple months ago we went to a cousins birthday party out at Willow Beach.  He had a blast being outside and fishing with Grandpa Brummett and Daddy...He even enjoyed splashing his feet around in the water that was freezing cold and got mad at mommy for taking him out.

Kenton and I took a spur of the moment day trip up to Utah with Grandma and Grandpa Waite to see the Southwicks and Breyden!  We had a BBQ at the park where we had so much fun splashing in the little creek.  If he can get the chance to splash around somewhere he is all for it!  We even got to see Trevor and Selena and their cute boys.  They are growing up way too fast!

Kenton loves when Breyden comes to visit.  He wished it happened more often! (hint hint wink wink)  They came down for mothers day and we had so much fun playing with our boys!  They are the twin cousins being only 9 days apart!

Loves spending time with his daddy!  Dad even lets Kenton DRIVE.  He is getting so big! lol  They love rocking out together on the guitar...I don't know how well Jason plays while he is helping though.

Kenton and Aida are still the BEST of FrIenDs.  Aida is so good with him and we couldn't be more happy with both of them.

He is finally sleeping on something other than his back...Maybe his hair will start to fill in?

He is a MESS maker now!  He ENJOYS making messes and as you can see in the second picture LAUGHS about it after!  We are working on the word NO but he seems to think that is funny too!

He is a CraWLeR now and loves to get to where he wants to go.  Although...

He prefers WALKING along things to get to where he wants.  He has fallen so many times and has had so many bruises that sometimes I think people think I beat my child.

He loves playing with balloons too!  Dad filled one up just for him to play!  Thanks Dad!

Sorry it has taken me forever to update.  We have just been busy bees!  Jason is getting ready to take some summer classes and he is staying busy with work but loving it.  I am continuing to train for my race that is coming up fast and am trying to keep busy while Jason is working.  We both have taken a liking to playing racquetball thanks to my Dad and love the extra workout!  We have too much fun!

Fair Weekend

Last Saturday we made the trip up to Logandale for the county fair.  Sadly the weather had other plans on our little adventure.  It was super stormy!  We got there and it was raining...thats nothing we can't handle so we started getting out of the car to load Kenton in his stroller.  All of a sudden out of nowhere it started hailing/snowing.  It wasnt quite as hard as hail, it was like a slush.  Would we call that sleet?  Anyway we decided to get back in the car while we left Jason to put the stroller back! Thanks Babe!  We then decided to drive another 20 minutes or so to go visit Jasons brother Josh and his wifes Sarahs family in Mesquite.  It was fun and we enjoyed spending time with the fam.  We had fun playing with the kids and having dance competitions on the kinect.  I believe I saw Grandpa Brummett getting his groove on, although it didn't last long because everybody came in to watch and he stopped.  I brought Kenton down to play with the kids in their bedroom.  Kenton decided that he liked playing in his cousin Ethans room better because of all the cool boy toys!

Later on we went to dinner with everyone at Samurai 21.  We did the Hibachi grill experience and it was fun!Kenton was mesmerized by the fire when it got all big.  He loves observing new and exciting things.

All of our cute family!  It was fun to see them!

Our chef was pretty amazing!  He was flipping his tools everywhere.  He even flipped shrimp into each of our mouths.  I cheated and made a funnel with my hands to catch it, but I spit it back out since I'm not a fan of plain shrimp.

I believe it was Amandas first time seeing her food cooked right in front of her.  We were both bummed about missing the fair food but we loved our chicken and steak!  Thanks Manda for being a good sport!

Kenton LOVES his daddy!  He was playing with him and wouldn't look at the camera to take a picture, but I liked this pose with him staring at his daddy!  We had a great weekend and it was fun hanging with the "other" Brummetts.  Can't wait for the fair next year either!  Kenton will probably enjoy it more then anyways!

Family Night

For Family Home Evening this week we just went on a walk and took it easy.  The weather was so nice that we decided not to miss the opportunity to be outside.  We took Kenton and Aida to the park and had a little picture time there.  It was Kentons first time down a slide and he loved it!

He was all smiles!  He is getting so big, its hard to believe.  Just the other day he was so proud of himself for getting from point A to point B.  He is moving around now so it is time to baby proof everything.  Everyday he gets stronger too.  He is trying to pull himself up to a standing position when he is by tables and such.  Jason and I think that the kid will walk before he crawls because he gets so mad when he is stuck on his belly.  We will see.

We each took turns taking him down the slides!  It is so much fun watching Kenton when we go outside.  He enjoys observing his surroundings.  He has enjoyed the outdoors since he was little and I am glad that he still does!  Good thing summer is coming!  We are going to have fun play days!

Grandpas Birthday weekend!

Grandpas birthday was on the 11th and it was his big 50th birthday!  Skyler, Bri, and Breyden all came down to join in on this momentous occasion!  They stayed with us and we had too much fun with our cute little kids!  Kenton and Breyden just love each other so much.  At least we hope they do!
They had so much fun playing together and sharing toys!

So we had some big plans to surprise dad when he got home at work at 6 in the morning.  We were going to wake up super early and make the trek over and be there waiting to surprise him.  It would be perfect, he wouldn't even suspect it!  We all went to bed Fri night probably a little later than we should have being our alarms were set for 4am.  Around 3:30 we got a text from my mom saying dad got home early:(  As much as I didn't want to get up that early I was bummed!  I was way excited to surprise him!  So we went back to sleep and woke up and went over.  He finally got up around 12 or so and it was a party from there!  We had tons of black balloons and caution tape and 50 streamers.  We even got him an over the hill cake!
Grandpa was so excited that his two favorite grandsons were there.  Quite honestly I think he was more excited to snuggle with those two than anything else!  Grandpa of course had to leave for work after awhile but that didn't stop us from having some fun.
I love seeing the boys together...Since they are 9 days apart it is so fun to compare their stats like how tall they are and how much they weigh and what not.
They are pretty close in height...Breyden has got Kenton by a good inch or so.  He takes after his tall daddy!
Breyden also tries to be way taller by standing on his tip toes!

Kenton is helping Breyden with his headstand and apparently getting hungry at the same time.
I liked this picture cause you could see their daddies in the background.

On Sunday the boys got to eat breakfast together.  Kenton let Breyden use his chair and loved sitting taller than him!  They both got pretty messy and needed to have baths!

Breyden was highly upset when his mommy told him it was all gone that he decided to see for himself.

Then decided that he would finish it off by licking it out:)  My kind of guy!  It was bath time after that and they were super stoked to get in the tub!

Had to take some pictures while they waited for their bath to fill up.  We are lucky they aren't sick of pictures at this point.  They always have lights flashing in their eyes!  And finally BATH TIME

They had so much fun splashing around and getting their mommies wet while Jason and Skyler captured the moment!  As much as we wanted to go over early to my parents with Bri and Sky we had to go to our ward and teach our cute little primary kids!  After church we came home to change and grab Aida.
Kenton is ready for the drive to Grandma and Grandpas house and hanging on for dear life!
Sunday dinner was nice.  We hated saying good bye to Dad but we had fun playing scattegories together and eating some more of his Birthday cake and ice cream.  Jason and I were leaving to go to his parents so we said our goodbyes.  It always stinks saying goodbye knowing that it will be awhile before we see the Southwicks again!  I tell them time and time again to just move down to save us all this heartache:)
Sisterly love and with our cute little boys.  Had to get our traditional photo together!  Its crazy to think that we both have kids!
It was a great weekend in all and we had so much fun together!  Now we just look forward to the next birthday or holiday that will bring us together again!
